Gemma started at Wheal Martyn Clay Works in October 2011 as an Education Officer, creating and delivering the education programme at Wheal Martyn. She is a qualified and experienced secondary school science teacher. Gemma loves the outdoors, making the most of the Cornish scenery, walking and running and introducing her two young children to the joys of the County. In her role, Gemma plans and delivers school visits to the museum, as well as regular workshops for Home Educated families. She also runs the fortnightly community Memory Café, for those affected by memory loss. Over the years, Gemma has worked on a number of creative projects bringing education and the arts together, exploring the museum collection and historic site through various lenses and collaborating with local dance practitioners to engage the community and bring a sense of pride in their shared heritage.
