Practical dance workshop – The Imagination Museum in Blackpool

21st June 2024

The Old Electric

Practical dance workshop, following from our Keep Dancing event, on Thursday 20th June at Showtown.

This is an optional practical session on the 21st June (10-1pm), taking place at The Old Electric (Springfield Road, Blackpool, FY1 1QW). This free session will be aimed primarily at dance artists interested in working in response to heritage (but all are welcome), facilitated by The Imagination Museum’s current Strategic Lead, Katie Green.

We will:

  • have some space to reflect on the discussions from the 20th June
  • move together and try out some practical tasks exploring ways to respond to heritage through dance
  • consider ways that artists might like to respond to the future Imagination Museum co-commission for Showtown, to be announced later in the year (subject to funding).

To reserve your free space for this event on the 21st June, please visit our booking page on Eventbrite here.

If you have any questions or need any further information, please contact our Project Manager Alice on manager@imaginationmuseum.co.uk .

The Imagination Museum is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, and is currently being managed by Made By Katie Green. In 2024 it is being delivered in partnership with Colchester and Ipswich Museums, DanceEast, Wheal Martyn, Showtown, the Horniman Museum and Gardens and Trinity Laban, with additional support from an Executive Committee, and Advisory Organisations including the Association for Suffolk Museums and Arts & Heritage.
