Artist Open Day to develop the vision for the ‘Woodland Artist Studio’

You are invited to attend Hill Holt Wood’s Artist Studio Open day to find out about a new initiative that we are developing; inviting artists and arts partners working across all art forms to become integral to our wider programme through a new Artist Residency offer.

We would like you to join us to open up the dialogue about where the benefits of this might be seen, and help to develop the vision for this pioneering project, the ‘Woodland Artist Studio’.

Having recently obtained planning permission for a major construction project on site, in our 34 acre woodland, we are in the process of developing an Artist in Residence programme.

The expansion will result in the construction of three new elements:

  • The Treehouse – a micro-living unit for use as temporary accommodation for an artist/craftsperson
  • The Workshop – a multifunctional space for use as a studio
  • The Log Cabin toilet/shower/sauna – to service both the Treehouse and the Workshop.

All of the structures will be built using innovative construction methods and incorporating off-grid energy systems.

We would like to consult with artists and arts partners about our plans to ensure what we are planning is just right. Help us explore the role of the artist, form our vision statement and aid in the development of a project plan.

Come and join us on Thursday 12th September 2019, 10am – 4pm and help shape our vision.

Please confirm you would like to attend by booking a FREE ticket on eventbrite:

The event is free to attend with lunch provided. Booking is essential so we can gauge attendance and ascertain dietary requirements.
